Our work is inspired by Glasgow’s patron St. Mungo.

In a famous sermon he said:

“Lord, let Glasgow flourish by the preaching of Your word and the praising of Your name.”

So what are we all about you ask? It’s simple really. Fueled by this motto and with the aid of copious amounts of tea cakes, choons, banter and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the RCAG Youth Office aims to lead young people to encounter Christ through the Sacraments, the Church and each other. Together, in the heart of our parishes and supported by inspiring movements, we journey in the adventure of living a life with Christ, and living it to the max!

“I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full.”

John 10:10

Fr Tartaglia

Youth Office Director / Norwegian Spy

I've been a priest for this cracking Archdiocese for the past 33 years and I'm currently based in St. Margaret's and Our Holy Redeemers. When I'm not in sunny Clydebank, you'll find me in the Youth Office or in Oslo. Why Norway? I'm afraid if I told you I'd have to kill you. I'm kidding! Come along to some of our events to find out why.

Mairi-Claire (a.k.a MC)

Youth Office Coordinator / Not a Former Pop Star

Greetings to the big wide world from MC Hammer! Many people wondered where I went after my lucrative music career in the 90’s but little did they know I became a coordinator extraordinaire, changed my name to Mairi-Claire, and joined the RCAG Youth team to help spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the young people of the Archdiocese of Glasgow – I also developed a habit of exaggerating my backstory.

Youth Officer / Soul Surfer

When I was wee, I always dreamt of becoming a pro-surfer, but it was just a “PIPE”-dream (that’s some surfing terminology for you!) However, after spending time living the island life in Tahiti, chasing waves and unleashing my inner Disney princess (I mean, who doesn’t love Moana?!), I am stoked to join the RCAG Youth team! I’m looking forward to meeting you all at our events, it’ll be a barrel of laughs!

Parish Development Coordinator / The Sargent

Hey y’all, it’s Mi-shal not Michelle, unusual I know … If only I got a pound for every time someone got it wrong! I grew up in Pakistan and moved to Scotland when I was wee… and yes, we totally moved for the good weather! I studied Aeronautical Engineering and used my acquired know-how in the Air Force. However, after a while I decided to shift military branch and work for ‘The Church Militant’. Since then I’ve been on the ‘front line’, helping set up Parish Youth Groups as I go. Officer Mishal coming to a parish near you!

“It was through RCAG Youth that I realised the greatness of God and the love he has for all. Taking part in retreats that RCAG run has been an amazing way for me to really connect with my faith and look closer at what the church teaches.”
